Job Summary
Responsible for focusing on the operational aspects of machine learning. Manage, automate, and optimize machine learning (ML) systems that are crucial in enhancing our data-driven initiatives. Ensure the smooth deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning and advanced analytics models, directly impacting our operational efficiency and decision-making processes.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Stay updated with the latest in machine learning operations (MLOps) methodologies, tools, and practices, continuously seeking ways to improve existing processes.
Work closely with data scientists and other stakeholders to operationalize data products, ensuring smooth transition from development to production.
Implement and manage continuous Integration/continuous delivery practices for machine learning systems, ensuring reliable and frequent updates to models.
Design and maintain ML system pipelines, focusing on automation, scaling, and efficient model deployment.
Monitor ML systems for performance and accuracy, tuning models for optimal operation.
Manage cloud-based ML environments, utilizing platforms like Databricks, and Azure DevOps for optimal ML model hosting and execution.
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications
This is a remote position.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Ability to summarize, and communicate technical challenges and solutions effectively.
Experience working with and/or building continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
Azure Dev Ops or GITLab
Python Frameworks: Flask, Django, FastAPI
Javascript Frameworks: React, Angular
