Position Purpose

This role works closely with the category management team function with the primary responsibility of leading line reviews and maintaining product assortments.

  • Plays critical role in shaping our product assortment sets to optimize sales, market share & customer satisfaction.

  • Strategically Select, Manage and Analyze product offerings to ensure they are aligned with Category/Company objectives.

  • Leads Assortment Initiatives & Synthesize Cross Functional Feedback to further drive sales & profitability.

  • Contributes to the evaluation, design development, and implementation of standardized assortments, reporting, business processes, and information systems solutions.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Leads execution of detailed assortment plans, business reviews, and product line reviews.

  • Collaborates with various departments including but not limited to purchasing, transportation marketing, pricing, and cost teams.

  • Generates insights and data driven recommendations on assortment opportunities.

  • Conducts Comprehensive Financial Analysis to identify cost impact in various scenarios.

  • Plans and leads all phases of a project’s life cycle (i.e. feasibility, design implementation, evaluation); this includes extracting the business need; defining the business requirements, understanding the impact on the business, and designing and carrying out the project(s).

  • Mentors other analysts in developing/honing business knowledge and analytical skills.

  • Performs as a subject matter expert and performs research and/or analysis within assigned projects.

  • Works on 2 to 4 projects simultaneously, recommending process improvements and making final project recommendations which impact the business.

  • Establishes and reports on metrics of assigned projects to gauge business value.

Typical Training/Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a

related field

  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results.

Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on

unusual or complex problems or issues. Ability to make informed decisions and drive effective results with ambiguous information

Leadership

  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning,

monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare

occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 2-5 years of related experience

  • Strong project management skills and process orientation

  • Proficiency in excel and data analysis tools

  • Financial modeling and forecasting

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
